after jane walks out of the present's ofi ce, sh begins to shout at sophie angrily.

sophie: what? you mean it's me that caused your failure? do you have any proof? if not, that is venomous slander.

jane: proof? look at these photos and tell me that's not you. you gave away our company's secrets to our competitor in order to defeat me.

sophie: that's impossible. how did you get these pictures?

表达歉意时,我们经常会用 my fault! my mistake!不过要是用my bad!(对不起)的话,首次接触这种用法的人多少会感到有些新鲜。my bad! 用于非正式道歉的语境中,是对很熟的朋友说的,而且发生的事也不是很严重,比如是不小心踩了脚这样的小事。据说,这种用法起源于篮球运动,在美国城市的贫民窟地带使用尤为广泛。当球员犯规或球出界后,往往会脱口而出 my bad!表示歉意。后来黑人青年把这个用法带入了职业体育运动中。my bad!的用法是自从1995年的影片《独领风骚》播映后才流行起来的。虽然近来 my bad! 不如90年代中期使用得那么频繁了,不过在俚语(尤其是在体育方面)中仍占有一席之地。而且人们在网上聊天时也经常使用。

tony and his team are busy with a plan recently. when the plan is completed, he gets one big problem. an accountant has made some mistakes in drafting the budget. tony is very angry about that.

tony: how did you come to be so careless,gordon? you are often earnest in your work.and you also know the plan is very crucial to us.

gordon: i'm sorry about that. this is my mistake. i hope it didn't cause a big loss to us.

gordon: thank goodness. even a little mistake in the budget can ruin the whole plan. then how do we deal with the plan?

manager: what's holding things up?

steven: actually, it is all my fault. we are short-handed at work because many of the workers have left. and i still havn't hired enough hands now.
